Micro Controller Based IFT+US+MS+TENS COMBO

Despite being classified as low frequency due to their therapeutically beneficial components, interference currents have unique characteristics that set them apart from other therapeutic low-frequency currents. These electrical currents are used to treat various muscle pain and diseases by conducting them through the body using electrodes. The high-frequency current waves that act on the tissue relieve pain.

The frequencies of interest in general electrotherapy are between 0 and 250 Hz, and in interferometric therapy, these frequencies are produced by superimposing two electrical currents in the tissue. Current is used due to the high frequency. In this way, the deep parts of the body can be stimulated.

Working Principles

Two medium-frequency alternate currents are used in interferential therapy. These medium-frequency currents can have frequency differences of up to 150 Hz and are not all the same. Four electrode pads are used to generate two medium-frequency oscillators that are applied crosswise to the body. Each channel has one pair, or two numbers, of pads, designated as (CH1) and (CH2). One oscillator’s frequency is fixed at 4000 Hz, while the other oscillator’s frequency can be adjusted between 3850 Hz and 4000 Hz.

Inside the body, both oscillators interfere, or intersect, creating a modulated signal that serves as a carrier and a low-frequency component (the difference in frequency) for the therapeutic process. Interferential therapy is defined simply as the generation of interference currents at the site where two medium-frequency currents, specifically CH1 and CH2, cross each other.

E.g, let us consider two medium frequency currents, Current in CH1=4000 Hz. & in CH2=3850 Hz

These two currents are applied to each part of the body (or any tissue) at the point where the currents intersect. At the sites where the currents cross each other, these two currents are applied to any area of the body (or a tissue). It is possible to produce a variety of beat frequencies deep within the patient’s tissue by varying the constant frequency of the new beat frequency current setup, which is amplified and modulated (i.e., AMF, amplified modulated medium frequency). The frequencies of the new current are called interferential current and are 150 Hz. As a result, any desired frequency rate can be created in the carrier currents.

WHAT IS TENS?

TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. Electrodes are positioned over nerve centers, and the T.E.N.S. produces electrical impulses that are sent through them. TENS uses a variety of pulses that can interfere with the brain’s perception of pain by blocking pain signals that are normally transmitted to the brain through nerve fibers. Endorphins may be released as a result of TENS. These substances are part of the body’s natural pain suppression system. Many people, no longer have to endure chronic or constant pain. Pain control is usually significantly improved with TENS. TENS is safe, non-invasive, drug-free, non-addictive, and has no side effects. TENS can reduce the need for pain relievers and medications. Federal law restricts the sale of these devices by or on the order of a physician. TENS is an FDA-regulated non-narcotic analgesic device.

TENS

  • Therapy Modes: Burst, Cont. Burst -2, PWM, Sweep, Combi
  • Frequency: 2, 10, 50, 100, 150 Hz
  • Wave Shape: Bi-Phasic

HOW DOES TENS WORK

TENS works in two different ways. High-frequency TENS is based on the theory that continuous light electrical activity blocks pain signals to the brain. If pain signals are not sent to the brain, pain cannot be felt. Her second mechanism of action for TENS is to stimulate the body’s natural pain control mechanisms. Low-frequency or brief bursts of electrical activity cause the body to release its own pain-relieving substances called endorphins.

 Usage procedure

Make sure all controls are in the minimum position and the device is in the off position.
Attach the electrodes to the patient.
Select galvanic or faradic mode.
Galvanic mode:
Select simple or interrupted galvanic mode as desired.
:
In pause mode, select the desired duration and heart rate. Faradic mode:
Choose either simple or break mode
:
Select the desired impact level in break mode.
Power on the machine.
Slowly adjust the intensity control until the desired level of stimulation is achieved.
Precautions to observe
Ensure proper ground connection.
Carefully wet the electrodes to ensure good contact with the body. Turning on the device when the intensity dial is not at zero can cause severe patient shock and should be avoided.
Make sure the two electrodes do not touch each other when the device is turned on.
The device contains no user-serviceable parts. In the event of a complaint, please contact the manufacturer or its authorized distributor.
